Dielectric probe sensors apply high frequency electric fields to soil samples to accurately determine dielectric constants (conductivity) that correlate to soil salinity. A thermistor determines temperature. Power for sensor operation as well as analog voltage signals for data transmission is conveyed via cable to (and from) measurement devices (dataloggers).
