This position is with Sutron’s R&D department.  Sutron designs sensors, data recorders, communications devices and supporting equipment to measure the environment.  Our products are used to measure the climate and water resources around the world. 

The R&D department has need of talented mechanical/industrial engineers to help design these important products.  The primary emphasis of this position is to design the packaging for Sutron products and systems. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• BS/MS Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to make concept drawings/sketches for electronic products.
• Experience designing parts made from extrusions, injection molding, vacuum forming, castings, CNC machining and other common manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software such as Pro-E or Solidworks.
• Understanding of environmental sealing (NEMA/IP).
• Ability to work with vendors and bring product from prototype to production.
• Self-starter and able to work in teams and individually.
• Project management skills a plus
• Fluent in English
